Newtown Creek Water Treatment Facility (Mechanical Installation)
For this project, WDF is also undertaking heavy mechanical installations at the Newtown Creek Water Treatment Facility. The more than $49 million project includes an upgrade to the existing systems to automated systems. The project involves a new centrifuge building, digester gas service building and grid collection building. Newtown Creek is the oldest and last sewage treatment plant in the city to undergo a major renovation. The project began in 2001 and is expected to be completed in mid-2009.
