Newtown Creek Water Treatment Facility NC35E
Five Star Electric is the prime electrical contractor on this five-year project for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). This project is the largest water treatment facility upgrade in the DEP's history to date. The project is on track to be completed on schedule and within budget. The project involves comprehensive plant upgrades, including the north and north central batteries and building modifications for six buildings. At the completion of this consent decree project, Five Star will have provided all the electrical, instrumentation and control work for the job including installing a total of one million feet of conduit and over four million feet of cable. Slattery Skanska/ Picone /McCullugh/ Perini Joint Venture is the prime general contractor. Hazen & Sawyer, P.C.- Malcom Pirnie, Joint Venture is the construction manager, and Greeley & Hansen, LLC is the architect and engineer.
