Five Star Electric is the prime electrical contractor for this 350,000 s. f. 18-story OCME Forensic Biology Laboratory Building at Bellevue Hospital. Located on 1st Ave. and 26th Street in New York City, this all-glass facility took three years to build and houses various offices and specialty laboratories. The laboratory portion encompasses comprehensive DNA facilities, an EMS Station and administrative and computer centers for New York City's Medical Examiner. Five Star installed over 400,000 feet of conduit, miles of wire and cable, over 5000 light fixtures and 5000 devices. The construction manager is Gilbane/TDX Joint Venture, the architect Perkins Eastman Architects, PC, the engineer Cosentini Associates and the owner is the Dormitory Authority State of New York.
