Freedom Tower at the World Trade Center Site.
GreenStar, through two of its subsidiaries, Five Star Electric Corporation and WDF Inc., have been selected by STV Inc. and Tishman Construction, on behalf the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as MEP contractors on several towers at 'The Freedom Tower,' at the World Trade Center site.

For Tower One, Five Star Electric's scope of work for the 105-story building includes five 15 KV substations and spot networks, over one million feet of conduit, five and a half million feet of cable, 25,000 lighting fixtures, 600 panels and 1,200 motors.

Five Star is presently performing the electrical underground and grounding work for Towers 3 and 4. Five Star is also performing the Phase I electrical work on the new Transportation Hub for Phoenix Constructors, also on behalf of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

WDF's plumbing division will complete the core and shell components for Tower One. The work will include: installation of sanitary and domestic water systems, the natural gas system, the toilet rooms and accessories and the Pavilion drainage system. Over 25 miles pipe will be drawn to supply all the required plumbing systems.

For the 64-story Tower Four, WDF has also been selected by STV, Inc. and Tishman Construction, on behalf of Silverstein Properties, for the installation of heating and air conditioning systems. This work includes life safety fuel oil systems, primary and secondary condenser water systems, low and high zone hot water heating systems, fuel oil and generator systems, new cooling towers, fuel cells and all miscellaneous heating and cooling systems.

The project contractor is Tishman Construction Corporation and the architects are Skidmore Ownings & Merrill LLP. Jaros Baum & Bolles are the engineers.
